Women in Business: Student Org of the Year!

Business Leaders, Inc., the student leadership group at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah, held their end of the year awards ceremony earlier this week. The awards ranged from student of the year to peer mentor of the year to the student organization of the year, which was awarded to Women in Business (WIB).

The potential downside of the "tap on the shoulder"

Yesterday, I was at lunch with a doctoral candidate/friend/colleague of mine, and we were talking about my research on advancing tenure-line women in business schools.

One thing we discussed is the fact that women benefit from getting a “tap on the shoulder” or a nudge encouraging them to take on leadership or advanced positions.
